BS Degree in Meteorology or atmospheric sciences (or equivalent experience)
Experience with computer graphics and radar
American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval and/or National Weather Association Seal required
At least two years experience anchoring weather.
We are looking for a Meteorologist who is passionate about the weather, knows how to tell a good weather story, and provides accurate weather forecasts. New Mexico has severe storms in the summer, heavy snowfall in parts of the state in the winter, and the risk of tornadoes in the Eastern Plains in the spring, so there's no shortage of weather to cover.
Prepare and deliver weather forecasts for KOB-TV, radio, and station website
Assist in preparation of information, graphics, etc for TV weathercasts and online weather page
Must be available on short notice in the event of severe weather or other breaking weather news
Must be willing to collaborate in a team environment and be able to enterprise new graphic looks for the entire weather team.
Person hired will also be reporting during the week. there will be opportunities for weather/environmental reporting but you must be able to cover 'harder' news and enterprise your own stories.
