Gadi Schwartz is Eyewitness News 4's Weekend Anchor and managing investigator for the 4 On Your Side Investigative Unit.
Gadi grew up around New Mexico news. He spent a good deal of his childhood tagging along with his father Sergio Schwartz, who covered stories around the state for the Spanish TV station in Albuquerque.
Gadi began his television career at KOB-TV in 2005 while in college and has since broken some of the most important and memorable investigative stories in New Mexico's recent past.
Since the launch of KOB's 4OYS Unit, Gadi has investigated politicians, crooked police, doctors, lawyers, judges, state officials, booting companies, school administrators and criminals. In 2011, His expose into one PRC commissioner's embezzlement of government money and prescription drug addiction led to the commissioners resignation and sweeping changes to the PRC.
In 2012, Gadi went undercover to expose political operatives in Espanola handing our booze to homeless people in exchange for votes.
Gadi is an Emmy Award winning reporter who has received wide recognition for his work in New Mexico journalism. Gadi was named Best Reporter in 2012 by the New Mexico Broadcaster's Association and voted Best Reporter by Albuquerque the Magazine.
Gadi was born in Guatemala City. His family moved to Belen when he was three years old and then to Albuquerque's West Side when he was seven. Gadi attended Cibola High School and is a New Mexico State University graduate. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Government and Journalism with a minor in International Relations.
In his spare time you can find Gadi skiing in the Sangre De Cristos, rock climbing near Diablo Canyon, biking the Santa Fe Windsor, floating down the Rio Grande in a big red raft, or searching the mountains for Forrest Fenn's Treasure.
