Thanks for checking out my bio page. Since you're here, I assume you want to know more about me? I’ll start by answering the question I get asked the most, “What time do you wake up?” Well, the alarm goes off at 2am but I have been known to snooze as late as 2:45! The dark and early wake-up call may sound crazy to some, but it’s a small price to pay to get to anchor the best morning show in New Mexico, KOB Eyewitness News 4 Today from 4:30 to 7am. I also anchor the noon news, report and I have managed to turn my love of food into a weekly segment called Best Bites.
I joined the KOB team in December of 2005 as a general assignment reporter. Living in New Mexico I’ve covered everything from hot air balloon crashes to endless amounts of wildfires, floods and snow storms, but my most memorable experience was scoring a one-on-one interview with then Senator Barack Obama during a campaign stop. He told me he thought my name was “fancy.”
Before making a left turn in Albuquerque, I was a Morning Anchor/Reporter at KWES-TV in Midland, Texas. While I was there, I received the honor of being part of the #1 News Anchor Team according to the Associated Press. I also received second place for Best Reporter in Texas and a first place award for Best Sports Story for a heartwarming piece I did on a deaf child playing little league baseball. My very first reporting gig was for Channel 3 News in Garden Grove, California. Before that, I interned for KNBC in Burbank, California and for KCOP 13 News in Hollywood, California. I am a proud member of the Asian American Journalists Association.
I’ve also dabbled a bit in showbiz. If you're a fan of the TV show "Breaking Bad" you might have seen me playing a.... you guessed it... news anchor! I also played an anchor the movie “Gamer” starring Gerard Butler. In the film “Passion Play” with Bill Murray and Megan Fox, I play a Reporter. I also consulted actress Paula Patton for the movie “Swing Vote.”
I graduated from the University of California, Irvine (ZOT ZOT ZOT!) with degrees in English and International Studies. Even though I was born and raised in Orange County, I have never touched a surfboard. But I do like to snowboard and I pretend to golf. In my spare time I also like to read, travel, shop and check out new restaurants. I absolutely LOVE to cook and bake. I don’t want to brag or anything, but everyone who tries my cheesecake tells me it’s the best they’ve ever tasted. When I'm not eating/cooking/baking, I am hanging out with my husband Jeremy, our rescue kitty Pedro and our retired racing greyhound Lola Bella.
If all of this isn't enough and you want to know more, you can shoot me an e-mail or message me on Facebook or Twitter.
