As the Minnesota Orchestra continues its lockout, it appears as though their director is making other plans.
Osmo Vanska will be conducting the Chicago Symphony the same night Minnesota’s orchestra plans on putting on their gala concert. According to the Chicago Symphony website, Vänskä will conduct two nights in Chicago, Oct. 18-19.
The Minnesota musicians say they are incredibly disappointed they will not be opening their season with Osmo. They will play under the direction of Conductor Laureate of the Minnesota Orchestra, Stanislaw Skrowaczewski.
