Hastings Police and Dakota County Sheriff's Office investigated rumors of a suicide pact at Hastings High School this weekend.
The rumors started on social media when two children at the school committed suicide after a classmate was killed in a car crash last month. Officers and deputies went door to door checking in on students at more than ten different homes. The investigation found the suicide pact was not true.
On Monday counselors and clergy were in the high school to help students cope with the loss of three classmates in the last month.
