The Minnesota State Patrol says one person is dead and another is in critical condition after they were ejected from their pickup in a rollover crash in Dakota County.

Dennis Underwood, 27, of Cannon Falls was killed, the State Patrol says. Keri Gesme, 26, of Hampton is in critical condition at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

The crash happened around 2:40 p.m. Thursday at Highway 50 and Hogan Avenue.

The State Patrol says the pickup truck they were in went off the road at a very high rate of speed. The truck hit a driveway approach and went airborne for about 150 feet, striking a tree when it landed. It rolled at least one time, ejecting both Underwood and Gesme.

The State Patrol says they were not wearing seat belts and alcohol was detected in both of them. It is unknown at this time who was driving.
