Authorities Investigate Shakopee Wine Store Explosion

Arson is suspected in an early morning explosion at a Shakopee wine store, according to the Scott County Sheriff's Department.

The front of the store was blown open overnight by an explosion inside.

The explosion happened around 3 a.m. Friday at the Southbridge Crossing Shopping Center in Shakopee. The explosion blew out the windows in the front of the store and caused some damage to the walls inside the building.

The store, called Wine Style, is in the middle of the shopping center on Old Carriage Court. According to the Shakopee fire chief, the two adjacent businesses – the Tokyo Sushi restaurant and a dentist office – suffered some damage from the explosion.

The State Fire Marshal was called to the scene to investigate the explosion.

Authorities are offering a $2,500 reward in this case.
