The Minnesota House Republican Caucus elected Crown Representative Kurt Daudt as its Minority Leader Saturday.

“I am honored to be elected by my colleagues to lead the House Republican Caucus,” said Representative Kurt Daudt. “We have an optimistic group of members who are united in our efforts to rebuild the economy, create jobs and balance the budget. We are ready to roll up our sleeves and get to work.”

Daudt is in his second term in the House of Representatives. During his first term in office, Daudt served as the Vice Chair of the Rules and Legislative Administration Committee as well as a member of the Commerce and Regulatory Reform, Higher Education and Property and Local Tax Division Committees and Redistricting Committees.

Daudt says he looks forward to working with Governor Mark Dayton and the DFL in the next legislative session.

“We found common ground in efforts to streamline the permitting process and took bipartisan steps to control skyrocketing health care costs. I am proud of the work we did together and am positive we can do it again,” Daudt said.

The House Republican Caucus will hold a separate meeting in December to elect members of its leadership team.
