Felony kidnapping and domestic assault charges have been filed in the alleged abduction in St. Louis Park, that triggered an Amber Alert last week.

31-year-old George Jermaine Rutledge is accused of strangling his estranged girlfriend and then kidnapping their one-year-old baby girl on November 8th.

St. Louis Park police officers spoke with Rutledge's girlfriend, who said he was drinking heavily, pushed her and then strangled her. Then she said he grabbed the baby and ran from the apartment.

The Amber Alert was issued and investigators traced Rutledge to Anoka County, through a cell phone. They eventually found him at a home in Blaine and arrested him.
The 1-year-old was ok and returned home.

Rutledge faces up to 20-year prison sentence if convicted.
