Last night I attended Dethklok’s show at The Myth in Maplewood. It was very entertaining and my ears are still ringing.

Dethklok is an award winning death metal band that was started by Brendon Small who is the lead singer and guitar player. Brendon Small is known for his animated shows “Home Movies” and “Metalocalypse” on the Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim.

I had never been to a Dethklok show before and it was pretty amazing.

The band Black Dahlia Murders opened and they were very good. They were loud and really got the crowed energized. They played for about forty minutes and then Dethklok took the stage.

It was really neat watching Dethklok’s crew set up the stage and get Dethklok’s gear ready, because they were all wearing black hoods to disguise their identities.

Dethklok’s concert was very unique, because as the band played, a video played behind them on a gigantic screen. It was a giant music video that told a story. Like I said before, Dethklok was loud and very entertaining. The crowd was crazy, they were jumping and moshing and was having a great time.

In between songs the video behind the band continued. It was really neat and the animation looked great.

I got the opportunity to interview Brendon Small before the show. To see my interview, just click on the video player above the story.

I really enjoyed seeing “Dethklok at The Myth. It was a fun show and very entertaining, because the music was loud and it was great watching the animated video as the band played.  It was also really great meeting Brendon. He is such a nice and intelligent person.

I know that everyone at the show had a great time and so did I. I hope Dethklok comes back to Minnesota in the future, because I would like to see them again.
