The clergy gathered to pray for peace in the Middle East outside a Minneapolis church. Bishop Hilton McClendon of Grace Missionary Baptist Church organized the event. He was joined by other Christian pastors who prayed to end the violence between Israel and Palestinians in Gaza. Bishop McClendon says he believes in the power of prayer and hopes other faiths, including Muslims and Jews, will join a community-wide prayer in the coming days.
Nearly eighty people have died in recent attacks by Israel and Palistineans. Bishop McClendon says prayer has done great things in our country and he has no doubt prayer can help in the Middle East crisis. About a dozen religious leaders and church members turned out for the prayer Sunday afternoon.
