A 52-year-old Champlin man has been arrested for allegedly asking a teenage girl he met online if he could pay her for sex.

According to the Hennepin County Sheriff's office, Mark Jerome Anderson was charged Monday with prostitution of a known juvenile. That is a felony. The sheriff’s office and Dayton Police started investigating after learning that Anderson was sexting with the victim.

Authorities say Anderson knew the victim's age and offered to pick up the teen from school and pay for sex.

When he arrived at the school, he sent a text message to the victim to alert her that he had arrived, but the victim din't see the message. Her phone was taken by a school official.

Anderson is currently in the Hennepin County jail on $75,000 bail.
