A record breaking crowd of more than 3,000 enthusiastic hunger fighters hit the Mall of America this morning for the fifth annual Walk to End Hunger. They raised $306,000 during the walk.
“The money raised will go a long way toward helping the partner organizations meet the growing hunger needs of the Twin Cities community,” said Lori Kratchmer, spokesperson, Walk to End Hunger.
Those still looking to donate can do through Dec. 15th.
U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar was among the walkers.
Since its inception in 2008, the Walk to End Hunger has raised nearly $900,000 and this year’s total helps propel that number to more than $1.2 million.
