Stolen Property, Guns Recovered During St. Cloud Area Searches

Authorities in Stearns County say they recovered guns, stolen property and drugs while simultaneously executing search warrants at three locations Nov. 21 as part of an investigation by the Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force.

Nineteen guns and property reported stolen in a Waite Park residential burglary were recovered during the search of a home on Arbor Street in Bel Claire Acres, the Stearns County Sheriff's Office says. Additional items stolen from a St. Stephen storage unit were also recovered.

The sheriff's office says Jason Carson, 32, and Jacqueline Sanquist, 30, were arrested and are being held on probable cause charges of possession of stolen property, burglary and felon in possession of a firearm.

Investigators recovered more stolen property from the St. Stephen storage unit, along with methamphetamine, during the search of a home on Joymar Drive in Bel Claire Acres.

Michael Grandner, 57, and Jay Sanquist, 59, were home at the time of the search. The sheriff's office says 2.6 grams of meth was found in Grandner's bedroom and 25.3 grams of meth was found in Sanquist's bedroom. Grandner was arrested and will face charges of fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance. Sanquist was arrested and may face charges of first-degree possession of controlled substance and receiving stolen property.

A third search warrant was executed on the 300 block of 12th Ave. N. in St. Cloud. Investigators found drugs and four additional stolen guns, the sheriff's office says.

Justin Jerome, 32, and Lucas Brugger, 29, were home at the time. Brugger had an outstanding warrant and was in possession of 2.9 grams of meth, according to the sheriff's office. He was arrested on the the warrant and faces an additional charge of fifth-degree possession.

Jerome was arrested and faces charges of receiving stolen property.

Authorities are continuing their investigation and say more stolen property and weapons may be located. There could also be additional arrests.
