With the holiday season getting under way, many homeowners are digging out lights and decorations.
Many are wondering if led lights are worth the extra initial cost compared to traditional lights. The University of Saint Thomas uses LED lights on almost all Christmas decorations around campus. The school has seen an 80% drop in their electric bill since switching from traditional lights. Xcel Energy says that's what you can expect to save as well when using LED lights at home.
You will likely pay $5 to $10 more for LED lights compared to traditional lights.
