New River Medical Center board members in Monticello voted to partner with CentraCare Health System.
A task force was formed several months ago to see if the Monticello hospital should partner with a larger health system. Fairview Health Services, Allina Health System and North memorial were among the contenders.
CentraCare spokeswoman Jeanine Nistler tells KSTP.com, board members from St. Cloud Hospital and CentraCare will vote on the affiliation at a meeting Thursday.
"The health system will have to conduct due diligence before the deal goes forward."Nistler said details on what the partnership will look like have yet to be finalized. "This would be a win, win situation for Monticello and CentraCare," said Nistler.
New River was not immediately available for comment.
