A big money-making event is coming to downtown St. Paul.
The Xcel Energy Center will host the 2016 U.S. Figure Skating Championships.
The competition serves as the final qualifying event to make the U.S. World Figure Skating Team.
St. Paul hosted the championships in 2008.
The annual event typically attracts more than 1,600 athletes and coaches. On average, it brings in about $30 million to the local economy.
