Although Minnesota didn't have a jackpot winner in Wednesday night's record breaking $587.5 million Powerball drawing, the state is getting a boost from ticket sales.
According to the Minnesota State Lottery, Minnesota players set a new record for the drawing with more than $10.9 million in sales.
"We had a great run with this record jackpot, and a number of good winners," stated Lottery Executive Director Ed Van Petten. "Our state benefits greatly from the lottery and we hope our players had a fun and entertaining experience."
One ticket sold in Winona County is worth $1 million.
This jackpot which began Oct. 6 generated more than $10.1 million for the state.
