West Metro Santa Sightings Take Non-Traditional Turn

Santa sightings are o'plenty this season - but not always where you might expect him around Hopkins, Minnetonka, and Eden Prairie.

For instance, the Santa picture you see in this article, is old Saint Nick working out at the Ridgedale YMCA in Minnetonka.  He'll be back again at the Ridgedale Y December 7th from 5-7pm if you want to stop and see him.

In Hopkins, Santa Claus will be riding a fire engine, not his reindeer as the city celebrates the "Old Fashioned Holiday" on Thursday, December 6th from 5-8pm.   But he isn't leaving the reindeer at home, you can find them hanging out under the clock tower at 9th and Main.

For a more traditional sighting - Santa will be available for photographs at Eden Prairie Center and Ridgedale Center - and while he's available evenings and weekends, we suggest you try visiting him on a weekday afternoon.

We spied Santa twiddling his thumbs this week at both West Metro malls on Thursday afternoon, and Friday morning.
