The University of Minnesota's Large Animal Clinic has also been treating horses, with equine herpes that came from a farm in Wright County.
On of the horses had to be put down, while four others were treated on the farm.
The outbreak was discovered in mid-November, and the two horses at the college just went home.
KSTP was told that the horses are not completely recovered yet, but should be OK.
Equine herpes is highly contagious and can spread through the air as well as through objects that have been in contact with infected horses.
People cannot pick up this disease.
