I just received another great animated DVD from Shout Factory to review called “Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters – Creatures Unleashed DVD.”

“Kaijudo is produced by Hasbro Studios and Wizards of the Coast. There is also a very popular card game based on Kaijudo and the characters from the animated series.

The story is about a fourteen year old boy named Ray who lives with his mom and grandfather. There is a group of people called “The Duel Masters” and they have chosen Ray to study Kaijudo which is “The way of the creature.”  Ray learns the ability to call upon magical creatures to help him and his friends fight evil forces that are called “The Choten.”

I had never heard of “Kaijudo” and was very curious about it. I really enjoyed it a lot. It was very entertaining and the story was very easy to follow and interesting. I really liked the characters and thought that were very interesting.

Ray and his friends have to deal with everyday problems like most kids and they figure out how to deal with certain situations like bullying.

The animation was very well done and looked great. The creatures looked amazing and were very detailed.

The characters are voiced by some very popular actors such as, Scott Wolf, Freddy Rodriguez, John DiMaggio, Oded Fehr, Phil LaMarr, David Sobolov, Kari Wahlgren and Jason Marsden.

There are five episodes on the DVD and one bonus feature. The bonus feature was pretty good and it was called “A Look At Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters.” This contained some interviews with the creators of the show and some of the voice talent.

It also explained the story in more detail, which really helped and made a lot of sense.

People who play the game will really like the fact that there is an exclusive trading card that comes with the DVD. It’s is a card that is called “Kenina” and it has alternate artwork. I’m not sure how powerful this card is in the game, but it looks pretty cool.

I thought that Shout Factory’s “Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters – Creatures Unleashed” DVD was pretty good. It was something I had never seen before and I really enjoyed it. I know that fans of the card game will really enjoy this DVD a lot.
