New Minneapolis Police Chief Janee Harteau said she would be making changes, and she has.

Three days after taking over, Chief Harteau is building her management team.

That includes the creation of a new division that will focus on training and mentoring police department employees. Taking on that management role is Inspector Lucy Gerold.

The new division will help officers and managers build leadership skills.

Other new management appointees include Assistant Chief Matthew Clark and Deputy Chief of Patrol Bureau, Eddie Frizell. Both men have been with the MPD since 1993.

Deputy Chief of Investigations Bureau, Kristine Arneson, was also chosen. She joined the department in 1986.

The final appointee is Deputy Chief of Professional Standards, Travis Glampe. Glampe has been with the MPD since 1994.
