Free Northstar Rides Offered in Exchange for Toys for Tots Donations

Community members who donate to Toys for Tots can get free rides on Northstar commuter trains and buses.

Metro Transit and BNSF Railway are teaming up to offer the free rides on select trips. Employees will be at Target Field Station on Friday morning to accept donations of new, unwrapped toys. Donors will then get a pair of free Northstar tickets to use at a later date.

Then, on Saturday evening, travelers on the Northstar Holidazzle train get to ride for free to and from any station with a Toys for Tots donation.

The Northstar Link Commuter Bus will also offer free ride tickets on Friday and Saturday in exchange for toy donations.  

The Northstar Holidazzle train will operate on this schedule:
Saturday, Dec. 15
Departs Big Lake 3:06 p.m.
Departs Elk River 3:16 p.m.
Departs Ramsey 3:21 p.m.
Departs Anoka 3:27 p.m.
Departs Coon Rapids-Riverdale 3:31 p.m.
Departs Fridley 3:39 p.m.
Arrives Target Field 3:55 p.m.
The return trip will depart Target Field Station promptly at 8 p.m.
