Grapevine Shortage Causes Vineyards to Scramble

The wine world in California is running into a serious grapevine shortage stemming from a problem that started in the 80s.

Vineyards in Napa Valley are rushing to replace their aging cabernet vines planted after the Phylloxera outbreak killed the plants in the 80s.

Mondavi is planting 1.5 million new vines, but Napa Valley growers said the massive do-over will take years.
