Exterior doors are locked at Red Wing Public Schools Wednesday after an unconfirmed threat.
According to the Red Wing Police Department, a high school senior reported that someone called her home phone number Tuesday around 2:59 p.m. and said, "Your school is next," before hanging up.
A student then reported finding some .22LR rounds on a bus Wednesday morning.
A district wide 'external lock down' was initiated. Shortly after the lock down began, a student said the ammunition was his and that he forgot the rounds were in his jacket from coyote hunting.
Classes proceeded as scheduled, and local authorities continue to investigate the unconfirmed threat.
The exterior doors will remain locked through the school day as a precaution.
