A Twin Cities woman is preparing for her second go-around helping victims of Superstorm Sandy.
Dun Bui of Lino Lakes left Thursday afternoon for New York City. She'll spend two to three weeks volunteering with the American Red Cross in the storm zone. That means she'll miss spending Christmas with her husband and three grown children.
Bui is no stranger to helping in disaster zones. She volunteered in Oceanport, New Jersey days after Sandy hit the East Coast. She volunteered at a shelter set up inside an elementary school. She provided storm victims with clothing, food and emotional support.
This time around, Bui says she's prepared to do whatever is needed to help victims, nearly two weeks after the storm.
Since Superstorm Sandy hit, more than 130 Red Cross volunteers from Minnesota have helped victims on the East Coast.
