Kwanzaa celebrations are being held across the Twin Cities this week.
There was a celebration at the Midtown Global Market in Minneapolis on Saturday to give the African American community a chance to learn about culture and reflect on the past 12 months as well as the year ahead.
Organizers say their ideals can be applied to any culture.
Kwanzaa was started in 1966. It runs each year from the day after Christmas to New Years.
