Minnesota health officials say this could be the worst year for the flu in years.
Four people have already died, and hundreds have gone to the hospital.
KSTP’s Megan Newquist had Dr. John Barsanti, of Entira Family Clinics, in to find out more on how you can protect yourself and your family.
Barsanti said he doesn’t really know why the flu is so bad this year, and he said that the flu shot should protect what virus is out there, but it isn’t protecting everyone 100 percent.
There are usually three strains in the vaccine to cover as much of the flu symptoms and viruses as possible, but the system hasn’t been covering everything that people are catching.
