A man died after crashing into a St. Cloud classroom shortly after 2:30 p.m. Friday.

According to the St. Cloud Police Department, the vehicle was traveling north on Wilson Avenue Southeast, when it left the roadway.

The vehicle traveled about a block before it crashed into St. Katherine Drexl School on 2nd Street Southeast.

St. Cloud Police Chief Blair Anderson tells KSTP.com there were no students in the classroom at the time of the crash. Four adults in the classroom were hit by flying debris. They were not injured.

The wall of the school was damaged. With concern over the structural security of the building, all students and staff were evacuated.

The driver was unconscious and was taken to a St. Cloud hospital, where he later died.

Investigators believe the man had a medical episode prior to the crash.

At this point, additional details have not been released.
