St. Paul has a new mistress of fun, frivolity, and good fellowship.
Anita Elizabeth Mack of St. Paul beat out four other contestants Wednesday night to become this year's Klondike Kate.
The contestants are judged on their singing abilities, costumes and crowd appeal.
The original "Klondike Kate" earned her nickname during the Gold Rush of 1898, as the most famous dancehall girl of the North.
Mack will perform at St. Paul Winter Carnival events and several other events throughout the year.
