Law enforcement agencies in the Minneapolis area arrested 104 drivers for DWI in the month of December, according to authorities.
Authorities say the arrests were made during a ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’ DWI campaign that was coordinated by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety office of Traffic Safety.
Crystal, Golden Valley, Hopkins, Minneapolis, New Hope, Robbinsdale, and University of Minnesota Police Departments all took part in the month-long campaign.
DPS officials say enhanced DWI campaigns have helped to reduce drunk driving crashes by 40 percent from a decade ago.
Authorities say there will be extra DWI patrols on Hennepin County roads through September.
Enhanced DWI enforcement and education campaigns, according to authorities, are a component of the state’s ‘Toward Zero Death’ initiative.
