107 new affordable homes will soon be available in Minneapolis for families.

Nearly $748,000 in Affordable Housing grants were awarded to neighborhoods Thursday.

Commonbond Communities was given $300,000 for a brand new development. It will house up to 48 families in north Minneapolis.

Habitat for Humanity received two grants. One for more than $150,000, which will be used to rehabilitate 26 homes.

A second larger grant will help habitat build 33 new homes across the state. That money is from Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines.

The Des Moines Partnership has helped Habitat for Humanity of Minnesota build more than 800 homes since 1998.
