A few dozen brave swimmers took a dip in some cold water to help give the people of Haiti some clean water.
About 50 people took the plunge Saturday into Fish Lake in Maple Grove. The local rotary club sponsored the event and says these brave plungers will help save lives in Haiti.
"Half the people in Haiti get their water from contaminated rivers and streams," says Dale Snyder of Haiti Outreach. He says that has exasperated the cholera problem.
The group has drilled some 300 wells in the last 15 years, he says.
Those wells have helped bring clean water to more then 200,000 people.
