Last week Mill Creek Entertainment sent me a review copy of their “The Excellent Eighties” movie collection on DVD.

I spent the week staying up late and was up early in the morning trying to watch as many movies as I could from this set. I didn’t get much sleep, but I didn’t care, because I was very entertained with this set of movies and I wanted to watch everyone and I did manage to watch most of them.

“The Excellent Eighties” contains fifty movies, from in my opinion one of the greatest decades which is the '80s. The reason it’s my favorite decade is because I grew up in the '80s and have many great memories from that time period.

To be honest, I have not heard of many of the movies that are in the set, so that is why I was very excited to watch them. Some of the movies are very cheesy and look dated, but are still very fun to watch in my opinion.

“The Excellent Eighties” contains movies from just about every genre. There are dramas, action, adventure, romance, comedy, sci-fi, thrillers and horror. I felt that there is a great selection of movies for just about everyone.

Most of the movies star very famous actors such as Ron Howard, Joe Pesci, William Shatner, Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Jeff Goldblum, and Demi Moore to name a few.

I can’t list all fifty films, but here are some of the titles that are featured in the set:

A lot of the movies do look dated. I didn’t mind, because the movies are from the '80s and it gave them that great nostalgia feel in my opinion.

I thought that the packaging of “The Excellent Eighties” was great. There are twelve discs included in the set and each disc contains four movies, except two DVD’s have five movies on them. The discs come in a large thick plastic case and I thought that it was really nice. There is also a booklet that is packaged with the movies that have a synopsis of each film. There is also an index in the back of the booklet that tells you which disc the movie you are looking for is on. I thought that this was very helpful.

I really liked Mill Creek Entertainment’s “The Excellent Eighties” DVD set. There is something in the set for every kind of movie lover. I felt that it was very entertaining and I know that film buffs and movies lovers will really enjoy it as much as I did.
