When a couple announces they're having a baby, you usually expect a card, a phone call, maybe even a picture of the ultrasound.
A Minnesota native and her husband took sharing the news with their families to a whole new level.
Nicole and Chris Meekins of Columbus, Ohio made a rap video with the big announcement and put it on YouTube. Now it's starting to go viral.
The Meekins say they wanted to come up with a creative way to let their family and friends know they were expecting their first child. They came up with the rap song idea while on a road trip to Florida and Georgia. They came up with the lyrics in the car, then enlisted the help of some friends and an iPhone to shoot and edit the video.
Nicole, a North Mankato native, and Chris then sent the link to their family and friends. They also put it up on YouTube. What happened next is something the couple never expected. Strangers from around the world were sending them messages congratulating them on their upcoming arrival. So far, the video has received more than 2,500 hits on YouTube.
Nicole's baby is due in late June. The couple says they are thinking about making more videos as her pregnancy progresses.
