Smokers can puff electronic cigarettes in a new smokeless lounge in Bloomington.

The Minnesota-based business Smokeless Smoking opened its first store and vapor lounge at 8563 Lyndale Ave. S. in Bloomington. The store mimics a cigar shop, said co-owner Angie Griffith.

"It's just a more casual environment," she said. "We experienced over the years that our customers like to hang around and chat."

Before the vapor lounge opened Saturday, the business sold electronic cigarettes at mall kiosks in Maplewood, Roseville and Burnsville.

Now customers can enjoy electronic cigarettes while lounging on sofas, playing games and watching television at the company's new location, Griffith said. The store also features a wider selection of electronic smoking products.

Griffith says electronic cigarettes are a safer alternative to traditional cigarettes because they don't contain tobacco. Instead, users inhale water vapor and nicotine.

The store and vapor lounge is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
