Topping health headlines, a large-scale experiment is offering hope to prevent Alzheimer's.
The National Institutes of Health is conducting a large-scale clinical trial on an experimental drug.
It's called "Solanezumab" and scientists hope it may be effective in preventing the degenerative disease.
The drug is designed to rid the brain of plaques and a certain protein associated with Alzheimer's.
Researchers hope the three-year study will lead to a successful treatment of what they call a "looming public health crisis".
