A new survey shows that new moms are using smartphones while driving at an alarming rate.

“Safe Kids Worldwide” and American Baby magazine found that 78 percent of mothers with kids under the age of two say they’ve talked on the phone while driving with their babies, and 26 percent say they text or check their email.

Nearly 10 percent of the surveyed mothers have been in a crash while driving with their babies; that’s nearly three times higher than the general public, and close to the numbers for teen drivers.
