Minnesota explorer Lonnie Dupre is moving closer to the summit of Denali in Alaska.
A check with Dupre's command post shows the explorer is in a snow cave at just over 14,000 feet. He must make it to a camp at 17,000 feet before making a run at the summit.
Dupre is on his third attempt to become the first person to scale Denali by himself in the month of January.
Poor weather conditions forced him to turn back on his two previous tries.
