St. Cloud Police say a suspect tried to shoplift from a Target store and then threatened employees with a knife before fleeing in a white minivan.

Officers were called to the Target on Lincoln Avenue Southeast around 11:21 a.m. Thursday on a report of a theft in progress.

Loss prevention officers say the man tried to steal electronics from the store, so they tried to detain him. That’s when police say the man took out a folding knife with the blade extended toward the employees.

The man left the store in a white minivan with a dark luggage rack on the roof. He’s described as a white man in his early 20s and was wearing a dark blue coat and a dark blue hoodie with white lettering on the front.

No one was injured during the altercation.
