Woodbury Police Chief Lee Vague says he's thankful for a grand jury analysis of last summer's officer-involved shooting at a motel.
Ramsey County prosecutors announced Thursday that a grand jury won't indict three officers who fired their weapons during the standoff at the Red Roof Inn.
Nineteen-year-old Mark Henderson of St. Paul died. Authorities have said he was a hostage trying to escape from Demetrius Ballinger, but police thought he was armed.
Vague is also thanking the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and Ramsey County prosecutors for their thorough investigation. And he says in a statement that his thoughts go out to everyone affected by the incident.
The officers were on paid administrative leave after the shooting, but returned to duty in September after the BCA released preliminary investigation results.
