An Apple Valley dentist office is offering free dental care to children on Friday.
Dakota Dental Clinic staff is providing the service as part of Give Kids a Smile, a national program promoting free dental care for children in low-income homes.
The American Dental Association launched Give Kids a Smile Day on Feb. 1, 2003.
Now, the day provides dental care for nearly 450,000 annually, the group says.
Last year, nearly 5,000 children received dental care at about 200 offices throughout Minnesota, according to Dakota Dental.
On the day, the Apple Valley office offers children preventative oral healthcare, fluoride treatments, cleanings and other services.
Those interested in receiving free dental services at Dakota Dental must be 18 years or younger. Children also need to have a parent or legal guardian present.
Appointments can be made by calling 952-431-5774.
