School is closed for the day at Maplewood and Edgerton Elementary schools after a water main break Wednesday.
An official at St. Paul Regional Water Services believes frozen ground caused old cast iron pipes to burst.
Water initially flooded Edgerton Street, and the area has since been cleaned-up.
The district decided to close Maplewood Elementary School around 7 a.m.
Water service in the area is expected to be restored around 2 p.m.
Edgerton Elementary School in the Roseville Area School district is also closed for the day because of the water main break. School officials say they expect the school to be back open Thursday.
