A Fridley man was charged after police were called to a domestic dispute last week.
Fridley Police responded to the 7400 block of West Circle Northeast around 11:01 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, regarding a fight between two brothers.
A woman told police that her boyfriend had been assaulted by his brother, identified as 40-year-old Ronald James Enno of Fridley. She said that her boyfriend, his brother, and Enno’s adult son returned home after drinking at a local bar.
The victim reportedly made a comment about Enno’s dead brother, which upset Enno, according to the criminal complaint. Enno allegedly pushed the victim into the wall and then punched and kicked him until the victim was unconscious.
Police said the victim had a swollen and bloody left eye and a large cut on his head.
Police later found Enno at his home, which is next door to the victim’s. He admitted to punching the victim over an argument, according to the criminal complaint.
Enno was previously convicted of Domestic Abuse Battery and Knowingly Violating a Domestic Abuse Order on May 8, 2006.
Enno has been charged with domestic assault. If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines.
