St. Cloud State University President Earl H. Potter III was one of the attendees of Tuesday night’s State of the Union Address.

According to the university, Potter is a supporter of easing work-visa restrictions for international students. He has supported the proposed Immigration Innovation Act of 2013 (I-Squared) along with Sen. Amy Klobuchar.

The university says Klobuchar invited Potter to attend President Barack Obama’s address at the United States Capitol.

St. Cloud State had 1,025 international students enrolled in the fall semester, according to the university.
