Police Radio Chatter of Oakdale Shootings Released

It is 6:10 p.m. Monday night, Oakdale Police dispatch sends out their first call of shots fired near the intersection of 7th Street and Hadley. At the time no one knew what they had on their hands.

By 6:12 p.m., two minutes later, three officers are on the scene. 

"Report of one female that was wounded. Scene is not secure. It will be a level one," an Oakdale officer said over his radio.

Level one means someone is suffering from traumatic injuries. Oakdale police now know they have a crisis on their hands. Woodbury police are called in to help. the time, 6:18 p.m.

"Update, a woman says, a male is walking down the street, she believes it's some type of gun he had. She didn't know if it was a long gun or a handgun. Last seen heading to the Rainbow area," another cop said.

A minute later it is confirmed there are two victims in the rainbow parking lot.

"I'm trying to get her to calm down and tell me exactly where she is. But she is with a male party that's been struck in the head," a cop said.

39 year old Missy Aryal was hit in the arm. her 9 year old son Devin, was hit multiple times. He would later die at regions. It is now 6:22 p.m.

The search for the shooter is on. A K-9 is brought out to track him. By 6:42 p.m. Nhan Tran was in custody.

Police say, Tran used a 9mm handgun plus had extra bullets and two knives on him.
