The ice castle at the Mall of America will stick around longer than expected due to popular demand, mall officials announced Monday.

Now, the Ice Castles Mall of America exhibit will remain open until March 2.

The ice structure stands more than 40 feet tall and spans more than 2 acres. Mall officials say it's the largest ice castle ever.

The castle is made of icicles organically grown from 4 million gallons of water and then fused together. The castle joins 50 large ice towers, creating a series of archways, tunnels, walls and caverns. At night, hundreds of thousands of multi-colored lights illuminate the ice.

The exhibit is located in the mall's north lot on the corner of 24th Avenue and Lindau Lane.

Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 3 to 12. A family pack of two adults and two children costs $25. Click here for more information.
