An Apple Valley woman has been accused of sending 24 different magazines to her neighbor without permission - costing the neighbor more than $520.
Brenda Lee Sanchez, 50, now faces two felony charges of stalking, according to a Dakota County criminal complaint.
The neighbor told police in late December about the magazines being mailed to her.
Although she didn't order them, the woman said she was responsible for canceling the magazine subscriptions.
She gave police several magazine subscription cards, which she suspected Sanchez had filled out, the complaint said.
Police then obtained a handwriting sample from Sanchez.
Officers believed the handwriting sample was a match to the cards, the charges said. Police say that Sanchez ordered the magazines throughout October 2012.
Sanchez initially denied ordering the subscriptions. But in January, she told police that she ordered the magazines because of a rift between her and her neighbor, the complaint said.
While living next to each other for two years, Sanchez told police that her neighbor reported Sanchez to the area's homeowner's association, saying Sanchez's dog used her neighbor's yard as a bathroom. The woman also played music loudly in the early morning, Sanchez said.
Sanchez told police she didn't think she should get in trouble for ordering the magazines.
Sanchez has been charged by summons. An attempt to call Sanchez at home for comment was unsuccessful Monday.
