Fifteen schools in the Robbinsdale district started using an electronic visitor check in system in February.
Guests to the school have to swipe their driver's licenses, then the software verifies their identity and tracks their time in and out. It's also possible to add notes or alerts to the database.
The system was created by Identification Verification Systems based in Red Wing. The company is now working with other districts in the metro who want to upgrade.
