Bulldozers made short work of the former Park Nicollet and Lutheran Brotherhood buildings.
The properties are being brought down to make way for the Gallery Flats apartment complex, according to assistant City manager Jim Genellie.
Gallery Flats is being built by Klodt Development. They've proposed is to construct two apartment buildings. The first building will be constructed along Eighth Avenue and have 73 units. The second building will be constructed along First Street and Ninth Avenue and have 90 units. Construction will begin in 2013.
There will be 165 underground parking spaces. There will be 23 surface parking spaces on the north side of the Ninth Avenue building.
